Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush

Hi everyone! Today I'll be reviewing one of the products I bought while on vacation, Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush. I had been wanting to try this for a while but was never sure if it would work that well, turns out I was right. While this blush has the potential to be great, it falls short, leaving the user with too bright cheeks and overly defined lines. It definitely looks like mousse, and feels like it to when you put it on. I actually don't mind the texture, I think it's an interesting idea but for a mousse it doesn't blend that well. I find that even if you try to blend it out as much as you can you can still see the line where you stopped putting on blush. I tried really hard to soften the line but it didn't work very well. I also didn't like that this blush really caked up foundation, even when I patted it on lightly it still managed to make my cheeks look pretty gross. Overall this product basically doesn't work out too well, don't buy it and save yourself the money.

I'm back!

I'm home! I had a wonderful vacation, and did lots of shopping! I'll be doing a lot of reviews on the new products I bought soon, I just want to use them for a while before I start reviewing them so I get really used to using them. So far I am loving all the new products I bought!

Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick

Hello everyone! I just have one more exam to go and them I'm finished, I'm so excited for my vacation to finally start!
So today I'll be reviewing one of Avon's lipsticks from the Ultra Colour Rich line. I haven't been extremely impressed with it so far, while the colour is beautiful (I chose the colour "pout" light pink) I don't find that this lipstick lasts very long, and it really settles into the fine lines on my lips. Unfortunately I have pretty dry lips most of the time and this really emphasizes dry, chapped lips. It does look good when I *exfoliate my lips though so I've just gotten into the habit of doing that whenever I wear this. This is a pretty inexpensive lipstick, it only costs $8, so even though I don't like it that much it's not like I wasted a lot of money. One great thing about this is that it comes in a wide variety of colour's and finishes. The finishes are metallic, shimmer, satins, and sheer. "Pout" is a shimmer but it really isn't that shimmery, which I like because I think shimmer can sometimes look a little tacky. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend, but if you want to try it I suggest you make sure your lips are exfoliated beforehand.

* you can exfoliate your lips by wetting a toothbrush and rubbing it over your lips, this helps get rid of any dead skin. You can also take a wet wash cloth and rub it over your lips.

The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Moisturizing Lotion

Hello all my wonderful readers who have been so patient with me, I'm really sorry about the lack of posts. I'm quickly taking a break from studying to write this review, and I'll see if I can fit another one in later today. I bought this moisturizer last Friday and I've used it every day since and I love it! But to be honest it doesn't do what it is supposed to do, at all. Generally when something says mattifying that means NO SHINE, if anything this adds shine. Now, not the gross greasy kind of shine, it actually makes my skin look healthier. I don't use this on my t-zone because that's where I get oiliest, but I do use it on my cheeks because they often get dry. I'm pretty sure if I did use this on my t-zone I would look like a grease ball. I really wouldn't recommend this if you have completely oily skin, but if you have dry areas on your face this should work really well for you! One of the best things about this lotion is that it helps my foundation go on so smoothly, and it has SPF 15! Overall I would really, really discourage people with completely oily skin from getting this; chances are you'll hate it. But if you have dry skin, normal skin, or combination skin I think you'll really enjoy it!

P.S. It doesn't smell like seaweed

Rimmel London Vinyl Gloss

Hi everyone! I hope everyones weekend is going well. I meant to do this review about a month ago but I completely forgot, so here it is now! My friend uses this lipgloss every single day, and she always talks about how much she loves it so I decided to try it out. I've been pretty satisfied with it, I mean there is nothing really special about it. I do like that it's not sticky, it goes on very smoothly. Another great thing about it is that its really light weight so you can barely feel it on your lips when you have it on. There are a few things I don't like about it, one being that it's not long lasting. However it doesn't claim to be long lasting so I guess that makes sense! Also, for some reason this gloss sometimes makes my lips feel a little numb. I have no idea why because I asked my friend if that happens to her and she looked at me like I was crazy, so I'm guessing it doesn't happen to her. I have sensitive skin though, so thats probably why it makes my lips numb. Another downside to this lip gloss is it only comes in four colours, and none of them are really very pigmented. Overall its a pretty average gloss, so I'd say don't buy it. I will be doing a few lip product reviews soon so keep checking back for those!

Rimmel London Natural Bronzer

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to be doing a quick review on Rimmel's bronzer. If you have been reading my blog for awhile you will know that I am quite pale (because I've said so about 50 times) so bronzer has always been a hard product for me to use because many of them make me look orange. I frequently watch makeup gurus on youtube and one of them constantly talks about how much she loves this bronzer. I decided to try it based on her review, and I am so glad I bought it! It comes in three different shades, sun kissed, sun light, and sun bronze. Personally, when I was purchasing it I couldn't tell the difference between the three but I'm sure there is one once you put it on your skin. Well anyway, this bronzer is fantastic! It is pretty pigmented, but not so much that it makes you look orange. You just have to use a light hand when you apply it and you should be fine. If your pale like me I suggest dusting a bit all over your face, and then concentrating a bit more on your cheekbones, just so you don't look like you have racing stripes. If you have a more olive complexion you can probably get away with just focusing on your cheekbones.
This bronzer is also quite smooth to the touch and feels great when you put it on. This really does give a very natural sun kissed glow, and it's very inexpensive as well! Oh and it's matte, so if you have oily skin this won't make you look oilier. Basically I only have good things to say about this, I think it's a really good product. If you don't have a bronzer yet start out with this one, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Avon Perfect Wear Everlasting Liquid Foundation SPF15

Hi guys, So after a long absence I'm finally back with another review, hope you all enjoy!
I'm going to be reviewing an Avon foundation that I bought a few months ago. Oh I got a question about how to buy things from Avon, well chances are that there is an Avon representative living near your. You can check the website and enter your postal code and it will tell you if there is. Or you can order online. Now back to the review! I bought this because I was looking for a foundation that would last during the day in the summer (my foundation often gets cakey during the summer) and I had been reading really great reviews on this. I got mine on sale for $10, but usually it's $15. Because I had been reading such great reviews on it I was expecting a lot, and I was pretty disappointed when this didn't live up to my expectations. This foundation goes on so heavily its unbelievable, it also takes a long time to blend. I have some dry spots on my face and this really made them stand out and look flaky. The main thing about this foundation is that it is supposed to last all day and keep your skin from getting oily. Yeah right, this foundation isn't any better than any drugstore foundations out there. My skin still gets oily throughout the day, and the foundation doesn't seem to last any longer than other foundations. So I guess a lot of people loved this foundation because it got such great reviews, but I really don't recommend it. I'm going to use it up just so I don't waste it, but I won't be re-buying it.

Update!

Hi everyone, so sorry about the lack of posts lately. I wrote a review yesterday but my computer lost its internet connection just as I was about to post it. Soo, there will be a new review soon, I'm just getting busy because it's the end of the school year, so bear with me!

I'm Back! Sort of

Hi everyone! So I'm all better, thank goodness. It's no fun being sick when it's so nice out. I'll be doing a post today, and I'm really going to try to keep up a regular posting schedule, but it might be kind of hard for me at the moment because exams are coming up and I have lots of culminating projects to do and lots of studying! I really dislike the end of the school year. But enough of my grumbling, today I'm going to be reviewing Avon's Wash-off waterproof mascara; I know the name is the most boring thing ever, but the mascara is great! This mascara was included in my purchase of the Avon primer, but normally it costs about $10, so it's pretty well priced. This really is a good little mascara, it's nothing special but it works well if your going to be swimming or out in the rain. I also use it on super hot and humid days, because I find mascara can smudge a lot when it's hot out. This mascara STAYS PUT, honestly it doesn't budge at all. I wore it last week when I was outside for about 6 hours and it was very humid out and it didn't give me raccoon eyes!

It doesn't add a whole lot of volume, but thats not what it's supposed to do. It does lengthen lashes well and doesn't clump. This also seperates lashes well, without making you look like you have spider leg eyelashes. The brush is just your run of the mill brush, nothing too spectacular, but as I said this is great for those days when you know you'll be swimming, or outside for a long time. Overall this is a great mascara, if you can get Avon products where you live I suggest buying this!

Avon Magix Face Perfector

Another day another primer review! I'm super tired guys so this review won't be very long; bear with me if it doesn't make that much sense either! So the other day I reviewed the Gosh foundation primer, but it was more on the expensive side. Personally I don't want to be spending $30 each time I need a primer. Well, a few weeks ago I was looking through the Avon catalogue and came across this great deal where you get a primer, mascara, and concealer all for $14. I decided to order the package because it was inexpensive and I wanted to find a less expensive primer (the primer by itself costs $15) I just received the package last week and I've been using the primer everyday since! It's my new favorite product, definitely comparable to the Gosh primer. What I like is that it can go on under makeup and create a smooth canvas for your foundation, while minimizing pores and evening out discoloration. It can also go on over makeup to get rid of shine. This primer's great because it goes on clear and it has a great texture. I actually have noticed that my foundation is staying on longer throughout the day and while I still get shiny skin it does help to control it. As I said before this really minimizes pores, you can see the difference right away, it also leaves skin looking very matte after you first put it on. This also has SPF 20, so great for those of us who don't want a sunburn! It comes in a fair size bottle, and you don't need much when you use it so this will hopefully last a long time.
I will be ordering this again, and I'll let you guys know how long it lasts. Also, I'll be reviewing the mascara and concealer that came with the primer.

Have a good night everyone!

Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer

Hi everyone! The weekend is finally here and I am so happy, but also kind of worried because I have to write an essay, so I'll be busy this weekend.

Some of you have probably heard of the cosmetics company Gosh I think they are mainly based in the U.S. but last month my mom and I found a section in our drugstore with a few Gosh cosmetics. My mom bought one of their new products, the face primer and since I'm little miss oily skin I asked if I could try it out. The primer cost $28, so yes it's a bit expensive but I have a feeling its going to last a very long time because you don't need to use very much. I've only used this a few times since it is my moms but am I ever impressed. When you put it on your skin instantly feels smooth and silky and you can see a difference in the size of your pores. I don't have large pores but even I could tell that this primer made them appear smaller. Putting on foundation after you use this primer is a dream, it goes on so well and blends really easily. I do realize I sound like I'm being paid for this post by Gosh, but trust me I'm not! Now back to the review; this primer not only leaves skin feeling silky but it also leaves it looking completely matte (thumbs up for us oily skinned girls out there!) it's also fragrance free so if you have sensitive skin this won't irritate it. I received many compliments the first time I used this, everyone just said my skin looked clearer and healthier! I can't say that I my foundation lasted longer when I used this, but my skin did appear less oily for a few extra hours during the day. If you can afford this primer then I would definitely suggest it! If you don't want to shell out $28 I'm going to be reviewing a less expensive primer tomorrow! Oh and by the way, the apricot coloured primer (in the picture) is an anti wrinkle primer.

L'oreal Voluminous Mascara

Hi everyone! I realised I've been lacking in the review section of my blog lately so I'm going to try to catch up. Today I'm going to be reviewing one of L'oreal's mascaras. Some of you may remember my last review on a L'oreal mascara (telescopic), I wasn't too impressed. However, I decided to try this one after reading about it on a beauty website. I've had it for about two months and I'm actually pretty impressed. When I first used it I thought I had wasted my money on a L'oreal mascara yet again, but after using it for awhile I've learned to love it!

One of the reasons why I didn't like this mascara at first was because the brush is HUGE! But after awhile you start to get used to it and it's easy to handle. It coats each lash evenly and really adds volume, it also adds a lot of curl. Occasionally the mascara will clump, but you can just run the brush over your lashes a few times and the clumps will come out! A drawback to this mascara is that it will sometimes smudge throughout the day, but it's never too noticeable and only smudges after about seven hours.

Overall I think this is a great mascara, not the best I've ever used but definitely not the worst. As I said before it adds a lot of volume and curl to your lashes, and it does add a bit of length. I find that this sort of makes your eyelashes look like a fan because it really separates each lash. You guys should try this out, its a great product.

Short and Sweet

"The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart." Helen Keller

I came across this quote the other day and I thought it was lovely, it reminded me that while its nice to have shiny hair, pretty makeup and expensive clothes those aren't the most important things. Sometimes I find myself getting too caught up in how something or someone looks outwardly, and I always judge too quickly.

The main focus of this blog is of course makeup, and trust me there will soon be many more reviews! But I thought for now I'd leave you all with that quote, take it as you wish but I really like it. Every day for the next week I'm going to try and stop judging others based on their appearance, if I see someone and think to myself that their hairdo is ugly, or that their clothes don't suit them I'm also going to think of something nice about them. You guys may think this is stupid, but as someone who has been very critical of people in the past based solely on their appearance I think it will be good for me to try this out. Now some of you may be thinking I'm a terrible person for judging people based on their appearance, but everyone does it. If you want to join me in this little "challenge" I guess you could call it, then please do!

If I was Rich I Would Buy...

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I decided that I was going to write a post today about what I would buy if I were rich. It's just for fun! I'm not poor of course, and I'm not complaining about the amount of money I have, as I said this is just for fun! Everything is going to be mostly beauty related (of course) so enjoy!

Nars Lipstick- $24
I would love to try the colour "Dolce Vita" I've heard it's beautiful! But in my opinion $24 is way too much to spend on a lipstick.

Nars Lipgloss- $24
Another nars product I want to try, and yet it is also $24, way too much to spend on a lip gloss. If I do ever buy one of their lip glosses it's going to be in the colour "Turkish Delight"

Clinique Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15- $42
My mom actually uses this and she really likes it, but I just can't bring myself to spend $42 on powder, when I can get N.Y.C. face powder for $5

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser- $30
I know $30 is a lot, but when your an un-working student you have to save your money! I would love to try this one day though, it's completely organic and vegan, and it's supposed to minimize pores.

Cargo Bronzer- $25
I'm shopping around for bronzer now that summer is coming up, and instead of tanning I just burn. Unfortunately I won't be buying this since it's $25.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler- $19
$19 for a freakin' eyelash curler? Um, no thanks. Even though it's supposed to be incredible this is one thing I won't be buying.

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation- $42
I'm still looking for the perfect foundation that will keep my oily skin under control but also look natural. I really want to try this, but with tax it would be about $50! That's just too much!

Grand Total $206
A little too much to spend right now! I guess I'll be asking for some of these products for my birthday!

Play up your Features! The Best Makeup for your Face Shape

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend!
So today's post isn't a review, just a few makeup tips. As you all know, everyone has a different face shape, and what looks good on one person could look awful on someone else. Knowing your face shape will help you do play up your best features, and downplay some of the features you don't like as much.

If you have a heart shaped face you have a wide forehead and a narrow chin. Christina Ricci is the perfect example of a heart shaped face. If you have a heart shaped face you want to draw attention away from your prominent chin and cheekbones. Apply a matte blush or bronzer to cheekbones to add colour but still downplay your cheekbones. Using soft, delicate lipstick/lip gloss colours will help soften the shape of your face. Have fun with your eye makeup though! Just stay away from really harsh eyeliner. Personally I love heart shaped faces, so if you have one consider yourself lucky!

If you have a round face your forehead is about the same width as your chin, and you'll generally have more prominent cheeks (not necessarily defined though). Kirsten Dunst has a round face. To add definition to your cheeks brush bronzer underneath your cheekbones, and add a highlighter/ light shimmery blush on top of cheekbones. Since your face is round you want to have more arched eyebrows (still soft, not severe) to add some shape. If your eyebrows are sparse use a brow liner to fill in any bald areas. Unlike the heart shaped face you want to have a nice strong eyeliner around your eyes to add definition to the face. You can use liquid or pencil liner, doesn't matter!

If you have a square face you have a very angular jawline and hairline. Jennifer Garner has a very square face. Go for a girly, soft makeup look to downplay the angles of your face. Add a pretty pop of rose coloured blush to the apples of your cheeks, and try to stay away from too much definition around the cheeks. Stick with sheer lip glosses or lip stain in a pretty pink or coral. You don't want to use harsh, dark colours because this will emphasize your angular jawline. To finish off your girly look use a mascara that adds a lot of volume and curl!

If you have an oval face your forehead and lower face are pretty much the same width, but the sides of your face are longer. Jessica Alba has an oval face. To help emphasize your eyes and lips and cut down the length of your face sweep blush or bronzer horizontally across your cheeks, but blend it towards your temples! You don't want to look like your wearing war paint. To help define your chin, line lips with lipliner before applying lipstick or gloss. Add definition to the eyes by blending a dark eyeshadow colour into the crease of your eyelid.

These are just guidelines everyone, not rules. Try out different makeup looks and use the one that you think looks best on you!
I used some information off of the website "TotalBeauty" to help me write this post. I thought it was a great article and I wanted to share some of the tips from them with you!

Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer

Hi everyone! I realized the last time I posted was four days ago, so I really have to get back on track. I'm going to be reviewing one of Maybellines concealers today. I usually don't use concealer because I am usually able to cover up any blemishes and redness I have with foundation. But there are days when I have very dark under eye circles, and sometimes some very red areas on my face, so it's nice to have a concealer to cover that up. My main problem with concealers is the fact that many of them look dry and cakey when you apply them, and sometimes they look very yellow.

I bought this concealer a couple of months ago and probably use it about once or twice a week, I have been so, so happy with it. I didn't know what to expect with it when I first bought it because as I said I've never had a lot of luck with concealers. I purchased the lightest colour they had (ivory) and it blends in perfectly with my skin tone. I sometimes put it under my foundation, and sometimes put it on over my foundation, it doesn't make a difference when you apply it because it blends in seamlessly. It doesn't sink into the fine lines under your eyes, and it covers up redness very well. The colour isn't too yellow and I haven't had a problem with this looking dry and cakey. This is a liquid concealer, which is funny because I thought it would be a mineral concealer because of what it is called. Anyway, the texture is great, very creamy and smooth. The bottle is pretty small but you don't need very much when you use it; a little goes a VERY long way. It comes with a wand applicator that's quite easy to use. The staying power is pretty good, I might reapply it once a day. All in all this is great, it's inexpensive but high quality. I'd really recommend this!

Beach Babe- Spice up Your Summer Beauty!

Sorry for the cheesy title everyone, I couldn't think of anything else! Also, sorry I've been MIA for the past few days, I just didn't feel like writing anything (I'm a bad blogger)

Today I'm going to be sharing a few tips with you that I think make everyone look gorgeous in the summer months. I always like to go for that straight off the beach look in the summer (messy surfer waves, tanned skin) and I'm sure many of you go for the same look. I know I gave you guys some tips and tricks a few weeks ago for Summer beauty, but this post will be different!

For me tanning is the most difficult thing to do, I am very fair naturally and I tend to burn more than I tan. I also wear a lot of sunscreen during the Summer so that obviously keeps me from getting a tan. I like to use self tanning lotions to give myself a warm, subtle glow. Adding just a hint of bronze to your skin makes you appear healthier, and makes you look fantastic! I've only ever tried one self tanner and it turned me a bit orange, so I laid off it for a few days and my skin went back to normal. Experiment with different tanning lotions, and see what works for you!

Get your hair highlighted! If your like me and you have naturally dark hair then add a few warm highlights to your hair. You don't need to get many, just a few framing your face is all you need to add a nice glow. Of course you can get as many as you want, but highlights can be pretty expensive so go for fewer if you can't afford to get your whole head done. I suggest pretty honey coloured ones, maybe a few warm red tones; whatever you want really.

Add some sparkle to your eyes. Summer is supposed to be fun and carefree, so experiment with different makeup looks! If you typically wear dark, matte eyeshadow try some beautiful bronze shimmer instead. Adding that bit of sparkle to your eyes makes all the difference. I personally wear bronze eyeshadow all the time, I think it looks great in any season. But Summer is probably the best time to try it out.

Okay, so I know that this post didn't include a whole lot, just three tips. However I don't think you should be worrying too much about makeup during the Summer, just slather on some sunscreen, dust on some sparkly eyeshadow, and hit the beach!

Update!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that my reviews won't be as frequent for the next few weeks because I'm trying to use up a lot of my older makeup that I shoved to the back of the drawer. I keep buying new makeup without actually using any up, and at the moment I have 5 almost full foundation's. Most of the makeup that I'm using up is stuff I've already reviewed, and I'm sure you guy's don't want me to re-review something. I'll be updating my blog regularly, but I'll be writing more about fashion trends, summer beauty etc. If anyone has anything makeup/fashion/hair related they need help with please write a comment and I'll try and help you out! For example if you don't know what makeup colours suit you, anything like that!

Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Hello everyone! If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know that I often say I have oily skin, having oily skin also means I have oily eyelids. This creates a real problem for my eyeshadow because it creases by noon. I absolutely hate having creased eyeshadow, but I've never been able to find an eyelid primer that's kept the oil down. I had been wanting to purchase Urban Decay shadow primer but I kept reading reviews that said Too Faced primer was actually better. I decided to give it a shot and ordered a tube from amazon; it was a little expensive ($17 per tube, plus shipping came to about $22) but based on the reviews I had read I thought it would be worth it.

Well, after using it for a few days I've come to the conclusion that....... I have never been more impressed with a makeup product. I'm convinced this primer is a miracle worker, my eyeshadow doesn't crease, smudge or budge from my eyelid all day! The primer also helps bring out the colour of the eyeshadow and makes it really pop. I put on the primer at about 7:30 in the morning and when I go to bed at 11:00 my eyeshadow hasn't creased at all! I know it sounds sort of dumb but I was so excited when I found out how amazing this primer was. I really recommend this, everyone needs this. I love it!

Nars Blush

Hello all! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'm sure many of you have heard of the cosmetic's company "Nars". I had never bought anything from them, partly because their products are crazy expensive, and also the nearest Nars store is a 40 minute drive from me.

Well, I decided that it was time I tried their blush because I had heard such wonderful things about it. I decided to buy the colour "Orgasm", a cult favorite. I didn't even look at the price when I bought it, because I knew if I did I would decide against buying it. Am I ever glad I bought this blush. First of all the colour I bought is just gorgeous, a light pink/peach with flecks of gold that beautifully highlight cheekbones. Second, the staying power is incredible. I put the blush on at about 7:30 in the morning and it's still vibrant at 11:00 at night. Third, this blush blends so well, and feels light, feathery, and silky as you apply it. I just love this blush, despite the price. I don't want to tell you how much it costs because then no one will want to buy it, but I'll just say it was more than $20 but less then $50. To me though it is worth every penny.

Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara

Good morning everyone! Today I'll be reviewing one of Rimmel's mascara. I had wanted to try this mascara for about a year before I bought it, but for some reason I never got around to buying it. About a month ago I did, and I really like this mascara. First of all the packaging is cute, but of course that doesn't affect the product. This mascara has a great brush, although it does looks pretty weird when you first see it, you get used to it. The brush coats each lash evenly and I've never had a problem with clumping; my lashes never stick together either. I find that if you curl your lashes before applying this it actually helps curl them even more. It doesn't add a lot of length, but it does make your lashes look very full. I've never had a problem with this mascara flaking or causing raccoon eyes. Overall this is a great mascara, I really like it and will definitely be repurchasing it.

Summer Makeup and Hair Tips

Hi everyone! With summer fast approaching I decided to give you guys a few simple summer makeup tips. Since the weather will be a lot hotter and everyone is going to be a little sweatier (gross but true!) you need to update your makeup routine just a little bit so that it gets through the hot summer days.

1) Use a primer- To keep your makeup from running off your face try out a primer from your local drugstore or department store. I suggest both a face primer and an eye primer, so that neither your foundation or eyeshadow will run and fade.

2) Tinted Moisturizer- Foundation can be a bit too thick during summer months, but a nice tinted moisturizer will help add a bit of colour to your skin without adding a whole new makeup layer (it will soak in) it will also hide minimal imperfections, but you should use a concealer for bigger imperfections. Of course, if you need the heavier foundation coverage just look for an oil free formula.

3) Water proof mascara- You don't need raccoon eyes every time you go to the beach or go in the pool. So look for an inexpensive water proof mascara next time you go to the drugstore. You can probably find your favorite mascara in a water proof formula.

4) Don't spend time on your hair- Summer isn't the time to worry about your hair. The hot, humid weather will probably make any hairstyle a little frizzy, so stick to simple styles! Just throw your hair up in a loose bun or pony tail in the morning and your set for the day. I always think it's odd when people spend an hour on their hair and two hours later it's frizzy. Summer is for relaxing, so give your hair a break!

5) Bright blush- The best way to update your makeup look is to add a new blush. If you stuck to less obvious, natural blush in the winter, try a beautiful bold colour for summer! I`m not saying you should look like a clown, but it`s always easier to wear bright colours in the summer, because everyone is! Just look for a bright blush that compliments your skin tone, blend it properly and you are set!

6) Sunscreen- Tans are lovely, but skin cancer isn`t. I am naturally very pale and I don`t tan, I burn, burn, burn! I always make sure to apply sunscreen before I go to the beach, or if I know I`m going to be spending a lot of time outdoors. Reapply sunscreen throughout the day to keep from burning. If, like me you want more colour during the summer try a sunless tanner, like tanning lotion. Or if you want a professional tan try a spray tan at a tanning salon.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer

Well it's that time of the weekend again, the night before you have to go back to school/work. Ugh, never a fun time of the day. But for the moment I'm going to forget about all the work at school waiting for me and focus on my review!

If, like me you have oily skin or combination skin then you've probably faced the issue of midday shine. You may have even gotten so oily that your makeup starts to run off. I know how annoying it is to constantly be checking your makeup and applying powder or using blotting sheets, especially during a busy day. I bought this primer with the hope that it would help minimize my pores and keep shine at bay.

When I was at the store I opened the tester to try this primer out and was horrified to find that it was a bright orange colour; I don't know about you, but I don't look good as an oompa loompa. I put a little on my wrist and was relieved to find that it blends right in and doesn't leave much colour behind, it only darkened my skin slightly and I don't look orange. So I bought the primer and I've been using it for a few weeks and I'm not totally happy with it. It does make it easier to apply foundation because it smooths out my skin, but that's really all it does. My skin gets just as oily as ever during the day, and my pores don't get any smaller. My foundation doesn't wear off as quickly, but by the end of the school day it's still starting to dissapear from my nose. Overall this really isn't that great, it would probably work better for those of you with normal, or dry skin. I'm going to use up this primer though before I try anything else. I'll probably be trying Smashbox Photo Finish Primer next.

Quick Tip!

Hi everyone! I just have a quick tip right now, I'll be doing a review on a primer later today. A few weeks ago I purchased Vera Wang Princess perfume, (review in archive) and I really love it, I wear it everyday! The only drawback is that it doesn't last very long on me, and that really bugs me. I read somewhere that if you put a little Vaseline (petroleum jelly) on your skin before you spray on the perfume it will last longer. I tried this out and it works! I just rubbed a little Vaseline on my wrists and then sprayed on the perfume and ta-da! It's been about 5 hours and it smells just as strong as it did when I first put it on. Try this out if you have a perfume that doesn't last!

Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara

Happy weekend everyone! Hope you've all had a great Saturday. Last weekend I was at the mall and received this mascara as a gift from Clinique, I love getting free things, and I love Clinique so I was excited to try this out. Now I'm sure you can all tell from the name that this mascara is supposed to make your eyelashes thicker and more voluminous, but it doesn't really achieve this. The formula is too wet and when I put it on it gets all over my eyelids because it takes so long too dry. Also, I don't notice any volumizing when I use this, but it does help make eyelashes look longer. However, this separates lashes really, really well and doesn't clump at all. I'm really glad I was able to try this for free, in a sample size so I didn't have to spend $20 to try it out. Overall this mascara is great if you just want a natural look, but for me it's not ideal.

Icing by Claire's- Neutral Palette

So I'm really starting to like my new blog background, It makes me feel so Summery! Now on to the review. Last weekend I went shopping with my mom and we stopped off in a little accessories store called "Icing by Claire's" I just went in expecting to find jewelry, but my mom discovered that they also sold makeup! She was pretty excited because it was really inexpensive, but I was a little hesitant about it because I prefer to buy makeup from brands that I know. Anyway, I ended up buying one of their eyeshadow palettes (because my mom bought it for me!) and I am actually really pleased with it. To be honest I wasn't expecting much, but for the past few days I've been using it and it works just as well as many other eye shadows I own. In the palette there were three eye shadow's, and eyeliner, two eyebrow fillers and tweezers. I've only used the eye shadow, eyeliner, and tweezers because I don't need eyebrow filler. The eye shadow has wonderful, gorgeous colours that blend easily and go on smoothly without fading during the day. When I use all three colours together they make a really pretty natural look. The eyeliner is pretty good, it goes on really well and doesn't tug at your eyelid, but it does fade after a few hours; it's a nice dark brown that goes well with the eye shadow's. The tweezers are just like any other tweezers I've ever used, so they're fine, and I can't say anything about the eyebrow fillers because I've never used them. All in all this is a really good palette that I plan on repurchasing again and again.

I'll add a picture later, I couldn't find one on the website so I'll have to take my own!

New Background!

Hello my lovely readers! So as you can see my blog background has changed, I just thought it would be fun to try out a new peppier, brighter background for Spring. I'm going to give myself a few days to get used to it and if I don't absolutely love it I'll go back to my old background.

CoverGirl Cheekers Blush

Hello! Today I'm going to review CoverGirl's cheekers blush. I've been trying to experiment more with blushes lately because most of mine are the same colour. I bought this blush simply because it was inexpensive, and came in a large range of colours. I've been really happy with it so far, I bought the colour "Natural Rose" which is a gorgeous baby pink. What I like about this blush is that it goes on very sheer, and you can intensify the colour by adding more blush. One of my pet peeves is blush that goes on too boldly when you first apply it. Also, this blush has a great texture, it's really smooth and easy to apply. I'm in love with the packaging as well, it's compact and easy to carry along with you in your purse. However, the brush that comes with this is absolute crap, so use your own brush! Aside from that though this blush really just gives a beautiful, natural and healthy glow.

The colour selection is fantastic, I'm planning on buying "Sierra Sands" and "Plumberry Glow" next time I go to the drugstore. For those of you who like brighter colours I wouldn't suggest this blush for you because most of the colours are quite sheer; but for those of you who want a natural glow this blush is for you!

Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend, and looking forward to yummy Easter treats tomorrow! I've had a long but fun day shopping with my mom and I bought two new cosmetic products (reviews on them in about a week).I also received a gift from Clinique, and my mom bought me an eyeshadow palette! So I have lots of new products to review. Since I bought a foundation from Clinique and received one of their free gifts I decided to review one of their products. Oh, and before I go on I just want to say that everyone who bought something for more than $26.50 from Clinique received a free gift, not just me.

Anyway, on to the review. I buy a lot from Clinique because they are just a really wonderful company, and a few months ago they were having one of their buy something get a free gift event. This blush was included in the gift and I was really excited to try it because I had never tried a cream blush before. I was sort of impressed with this product, but I wouldn't go out and purchase it. It's very hard to blend and it feels a little sticky when it goes on, however it does give a really nice natural glowy finish. The colour disappears after a few hours, so that was pretty disappointing. It was nice to try a product like this out just to see what it was like, but I'll just stick to powder blushes from now on because they always work for me!

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

Hello! So, I don't know what you guys look for when buying mascara, but I look for a mascara that volumizes and lengthens, and of course doesn't smudge and cause raccoon eyes. I've found some great mascara's, but I like to try new ones all the time! I have to admit that I'm a sucker for advertising, if the commercial says its good, it must be good, right? NO, this is a bad, bad, bad mascara. Supposedly it should lengthen lashes 70%, yea, not at all. I didn't notice any lengthening with this mascara, and within two hours it was smudging and flaking. Luckily this mascara wasn't too expensive, but it's still annoying when something that is supposed to be so wonderful, isn't really wonderful at all. I guess this means I need to stop believing advertisements!

Quick Update!

Hi everyone! I feel like I haven't done a post in awhile (even though my last one wasy only two days ago), so I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I'm pretty busy with school right now, I've got an essay due, two presentations due, and a bunch of other less important homework. I will be doing a product review tomorrow though so check for that later on! Also, I quickly re-reviewed my Revlon foundation so you can go read my new review on that! You can find that in the archives at the beginning of February, I tried adding a link but it didn't work.

What I'll be Wearing Spring/Summer 2010

Hi everyone! With the warm weather fast approaching I'm sure most of you are thinking about updating your wardrobe with some cute new spring and summer clothes. Today I'm just going to be sharing what I'll be wearing this season; this post isn't really about spring and summer trends, it's just what I like!

T-shirts with embellished necklines- I love relatively simple shirts with a little embellishment, like beading, ruffles, lace etc.

Boho Shirts- I like the slight "hippy" feel that comes with wearing shirts like this, they have a very nice summery look to them to.

Over sized boyfriend shirts- One of the simplest looks to pull off in the summer is a white cotton button down shirt like this over a cute bright tank top. Easy and casual but very pretty!

Denim jacket- I've never been totally into the idea of a denim jacket, I always thought they were really 80's, but I've got to say that I'm starting to see the appeal for them now. The other day I saw someone wearing a denim jacket over a sweet floral dress and I thought it looked so summery and lovely.

Khaki Bermuda shorts- I don't like wearing short shorts, so Bermuda shorts have always been my go to summer bottoms. I don't usually wear khaki, but I think these would look really nice with a simple t-shirt in maybe pink or blue with some chunky wooden bracelets.

Distressed denim shorts- I really like distressed denim, and I think these shorts would go well with really any top as long as it wasn't too intricate. Of course, denim shorts are a staple in any summer wardrobe!

Now of course these won't be the only things in my Spring/Summer wardrobe, I'll probably be adding some more things in the next few weeks, so keep checking back! Oh and just so you all know, I got these pictures off of American Eagles website.

CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers Lipgloss

Why do makeup brands give their products such long names? I'll never know. I know that this product came out a few years ago, and all the hype about it has died down, but I decided to review it anyway because it's one of my favorite lipgloss'. I have always preferred lipgloss to lipstick, partly because I'm still in high school and I regard lipstick as something that adults wear (even though teenagers can wear lipstick, and adults lipgloss) and I've also never found a lipstick that I absolutely love. If anyone has a lipstick that they like please let me know which one it is, I do want to start using more lipstick as well as gloss.

Moving on now to the actual review, the reason I like this gloss so much is because it feels like a balm when it goes on and isn't sticky at all. Also, the colours aren't overly shiny, but they do leave a nice sheen on your lips. One drawback to this gloss is it only lasts about an hour, but I don't mind reapplying this, because it feels like a balm and it does moisturize your lips throughout the day. It comes in many colours, some are sheer and some are more matte (still has a sheen) I've tried the colour "Strawberry Splash" and "Plum Splash". They are both beautiful colours, but personally "Strawberry Splash" works better for my colouring. I would suggest "Plum Splash" for someone with olive or dark skin. This is a great product! Try it out.

Maybelline Expertwear Eyeshadow

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to just be doing a short review on one of Maybelline's eye shadow quads. I've always really liked natural, light colours such as browns, sandy beiges, and golds; so I was really happy when I found this quad because it basically has all of my favorite eyeshadow colours. The picture you see in the top left colour is the quad that I purchased, but I have to say it's not true to the colours, the one in the top right is much more golden and sparkly, and the colour to the left of it is a bit darker.

I really like using this quad though, for the price (about $10) the quality is fantastic, and I didn't notice any fading until about 7 hours after I applied the shadow. I was a little skeptical about Maybelline eye shadow, just because I wasn't sure if it would actually be any good, but I've been very happy with it! Also, there are many different quads to choose from. I've heard the quad "Emerald Smokes" is gorgeous.

I generally use this quad on days when I want a more natural look. However, you can layer the colours heavily for a more dramatic effect. Two more things I like are that three out of the four colours have a matte finish, so if your not into sparkles you'll love this product. The colours blend really well, so it's easy to get a natural look. I may do a tutorial using this quad, but I have to figure out how to add more than one picture to the post. If anyone knows how could you let me know how you do it? Thanks! Oh, and I forgot to mention, the quad I purchased, and the one in the picture is called "Chai Latte", yum!

N.Y.C. Liquid Eyeliner

Hi everyone!
My posting might be a little less frequent over the next week, I have to write this huge essay for my English class, but I'll be trying to keep up my regular posting schedule.

Today I'm going to be reviewing a liquid eyeliner from the N.Y.C. brand. Before this eyeliner I had never actually tried anything from N.Y.C but after hearing a fantastic review on this eyeliner I decided to try it out. Now, I am absolutely terrible when it comes to applying eyeliner, honestly, of all the makeup products out there eyeliner is my sworn enemy. I somehow always manage to get it all over my eyelid and I end up poking myself in the eye. I've been practicing though, and I can now apply pencil eyeliner really well actually, but liquid? Ehhh, not so much. Anyway! This is supposed to be a review on a product, not my eyeliner abilities. I've been really happy with this liner so far, it stays put all day, no smudging, fading, it doesn't budge! It's actually not that hard to apply either, it has a very small applicator tip so it's pretty easy to control. I also like this because the applicator isn't flimsy, even though it's thin it's quite stable and well made.

This liner comes in three colours: Sable, Jet Black, and Pearlized Black. I bought Jet Black, and WOW! it is really, really deep. You know how you sometimes get eyeliner and it says jet black, but you put it on and it's like a pathetic excuse for black? Well this liner isn't like that at all. Overall this is a fantastic product, and the price is amazing! I got mine for about $3 at a drugstore. Now I just have to become better at applying eyeliner and I'll love this liner even more!

Maybelline Pure Makeup Foundation

Happy monday everyone!
Hope everyone had a good day back at work and school. I just finished March break, and boy, was it ever hard getting up early to go to school this morning.

I bought this foundation about a year ago, and I still have half the bottle left. It was just one of those products that I never totally fell in love with. It's not a bad foundation, but it doesn't really do what it is supposed to do, it's supposed to keep your skin oil free but I find that my nose is shiny about two hours after applying it. It doesn't blend very well either, so I always look patchy when I wear it, blech! It does look very natural when you first put it on though (and have it blended thoroughly) and I can see someone using this for a little portion of their face. For example if you have a lot of acne on your chin and want to cover it up you could use this, because it does cover blemishes well.

This foundation is recommended for oily skin, but I'd say you should use it if you have normal skin. I would definitely not suggest this for someone with dry skin, because this really emphasizes dryness. So I won't be purchasing this again, but it's very inexpensive so if you have normal skin try it out!

My Favorite Makeup Brands, and why I love Them!

Today I'm not going to just talk about one specific product. I'm going to be telling you guys what my favorite makeup brands are, and why I like them so much.

Almay- Almay was the very first makeup brand I tried, and I've always been really pleased with their products. Many cosmetics are too heavy and thick, but Almay's cosmetics always feel clean and fresh. They are also fragrance free, which is perfect for those of you with sensitive skin. I've always felt that Almay is one of the better quality makeup brands, and I've recommended their products to friends and family members.

Rimmel London- I've only just started purchasing Rimmel products, because there was a sale on at my drugstore and I figured I might as well try some of their cosmetics out. I wasn't expecting much, I've always thought Rimmel was kind of cheap and tacky. It is true that some of their cosmetics aren't very good, but I've been so, so happy with a lot of their cosmetics! At the moment I am using their mascara "Sexy Curves" and it is one of the best mascara's I've ever used. A friend of mine is a huge fan of their eyeshadows, and I can say that they do have pretty good eyeshadows. Rimmel carries lots of products, and it can be difficult finding the one you want, so I would suggest looking at their website and researching their different products so your not totally overwhelmed when you go to buy some.

Maybelline- Of all the makeup brands I've ever tried, Maybelline has been the one that has always worked for me. I know some people don't like their products, but I've got to say that I've only had a bad experience with one of their products. Maybelline is very inexpensive, and to me their products are good quality. They've come out with many new products lately that have been excellent, I love Maybelline!

M.A.C.- I have to include MAC in this list, because their products are perfection. I can't think of anything remotely bad to say about them. Everyone who I have talked to that has MAC products loves them; I love my MAC products. They really are just wonderful, well made cosmetics. The prices are kind of high, but the cosmetics are very, very good quality. They have so many different things to choose from, there is definitely something for everyone.

Clinique- Clinique is up there with MAC, another company whose products are perfection (except the eye primer, agh!) but really I have been so happy with most of their products, they are another company with a wide range of things to choose from. They are constantly coming out with new products which I'm always dying to try; and of course their products are all made from high quality ingredients. Just a wonderful makeup brand!

So thats it! I know this post wasn't very informative, but I just wanted to share my favorite makeup brands with you guys. Please leave me a comment telling me what your favorite makeup brands are!

Physicians Formula Multi Coloured Bronzer

So anyone who knows me knows that I am very, very pale. Not like ghostly or anything, but I have to wear the lightest shade in every foundation, primer, powder etc. So bronzer has always been hard for me to buy, because I don't want to look to orange and fake. I bought this bronzer a few months ago because it looked very light and I thought it would give me a nice subtle glow. It's not really what I expected, I knew it was supposed to be light and look natural, but it doesn't even show up on my skin! I guess I would say this is a bad bronzer, because it doesn't give you that nice summer glow, and it goes on a bit chalky. There isn't a lot to say about this, I suppose if you hardly wanted any colour, ie. NONE then this would be the bronzer for you! I think I might splurge a little bit and try out some of MAC's bronzers, or maybe I'll try out some other drug store brands before I go for the expensive ones.

Physicians Formula Multi Coloured Blush-Blushing Rose

Blush is one of those things that I've always had trouble buying, because I can never be sure how the colour will end up looking on my face. I bought a blush once that was a beautiful rosy pink in the package, but when I put it on it barely showed up. When I bought this blush I wasn't sure if it would look very good, because there are so many different colours in it! I ended up being very happy with this though! All the colours meld together really well, and when applied it's a really pretty dark pink. It can look too dark sometimes, so you have to be careful that you don't use too much. One drawback it that this blush doesn't last very long on your face and you have to keep reapplying it. So this isn't a bad blush, but there are better ones out there.

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

Hello! Sorry about the lack of posts for a few days, I've had writers block! I keep trying to think of something to write for this powder, but nothing is really coming to mind. This post will be pretty short, hopefully I'll get back into my regular schedule of posting.
Anyway, I purchased this powder a few weeks ago, and wow! I have never been so impressed with one of Maybelline's products. This is a pressed powder, and sometimes pressed powders can make your skin look cakey and dry, but this one is really , really amazing. When you use it your skin looks soft and matte, and it helps keep oil down. I also like this powder because you can use it frequently throughout the day, and it doesn't build up. I'll definitely be buying this again, I would even compare this to Almay's pressed powder, which as you know I absolutely love! This powder comes in eight different shades, so really you should be able to find one that matches your skin tone. Overall this is a great product, and it's reasonably priced to!

Pioneer Woman wasn't kidding, and Vera Wang perfume review

So unlike most of my post's this one isn't going to be just about makeup; it's also about the best chocolate cake you will ever have! Some of you may know about the blogger The Pioneer Woman, she's basically a celebrity in the blogging world. Anyway, on her site she has a cooking section where she posts delicious recipes that always contain tons of butter (yum). She has a recipe for what she says is the "best chocolate sheet cake.ever." I decided to make it today for dessert, and wow wow wow, it's so delicious! It's fudgy, moist, gooey and super easy to make. I encourage you to go take a look at her blog if you've never been to it, and make this cake!

Ok, now back to the regular type of posting, beauty products! A couple of day's ago I went shopping, not intending to buy any perfume but I ended up buying some anyway! I normally don't wear perfume, because many perfumes give me headaches, but when I find one that I like (and that doesn't give me headaches) I wear it all the time. "Princess" is definitely the best perfume I've ever had, it smells so lovely and sweet and is a very girly scent. Hence the name. It's very floral and has a light scent of vanilla, I think it smells a little like baby powder. This perfume also lasts a very long time, which I love! Because I hate when you get a perfume you love, and the scent doesn't last. I would really recommend this perfume if you like sweet floral scents!

The Balm Cosmetics

Today I was picking up a few makeup items at my local drugstore, and my mom and I found this adorable new makeup company! Actually I don't know if their new, but I've never seen them in my city before. The company is called "The Balm Cosmetics", and I've fallen in love with their products already. Well I shouldn't say I love their products, I haven't bought any yet (crazy expensive!) but the packaging is absolutely amazing. Everything has a cute or witty name, the packages are bright and very
1950's. Besides the packaging I also love how most of the products are paraben free, and cruelty free; I'll be saving up my money to buy some of the products in the near future. I almost bought the blush "Hot Mama" today, a beautiful pink with hints of gold that add a lovely glow to your cheeks; it also doubles as an eyeshadow which is great!

It's hard to explain just how awesome the packages are, so here's the link to the website https://www.thebalm.com/company.htm all the prices are in U.S. dollars, so here in Canada it costs a bit more. Today when I almost bought the blush I had to put it back cause it cost $25 which I thought was way too much to spend on one product, especially because I'm trying to save my money. I will be buying some of their products in the future and I hope there as good as the packages are! I found out that the eye shadow's are dupes for MAC eye shadows, but I think they are almost the same price so I'll probably just stick to MAC. Check out the website, you won't be disappointed!

Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow- Soft Shimmer

I love so many of Cliniue's products (except the dreaded eye primer) and this eye shadow is another one of my favorite products from them! Clinique has matte shadow, soft shimmer shadow, and super shimmer shadow. Personally soft shimmer is my favorite because it's not to glittery, but it still has a nice hint of shimmer to it, and works perfectly for a cute daytime look.

The reason I like this eyeshadow so much is because it's really pigmented, so you don't need to use much when you put it on. It is also very smooth and applies very evenly, also the colour lasts a very long time. I usually apply my makeup around 7:30in the morning and don't remove it until 11 at night, and I hardly notice fading with this product, so really, how much longer can an eye shadow last!

One colour I recommend is "Sugar Sugar" which is basically a pure white, but with the little hint of shimmer. It's perfect for a highlight colour (brow bone colour) when your going for a nice light daytime look. "Sugar Sugar" also works well when you put it on the outer and inner corners of your eyes, because it really helps to make your eyes appear wider and more awake.

Clinique is one of my favorite makeup brands so I recommend their products all the time, but this eyeshadow is a definite must. Just one more thing, this eye shadow is about $18, and it's a pretty small eye shadow so for some that might be too much to spend but if you like to invest it makeup try this eye shadow out!

L'oreal Telescopic Mascara

After hearing a lot of wonderful reviews on this mascara I decided to try it out. From what I understood it was supposed to lengthen your eyelashes and make them really stand out, I figured it would also separate them, because to me that's what a good mascara should do. I was really disappointed when I found out I was completely wrong about this product, it's actually one of the worst mascara's I've ever used. Now usually this is where I would say something nice about other products from the brand, but I haven't actually tried any other L'oreal products!

This mascara isn't all bad though, it does make your eyelashes stand out, but not in the way I like. It clumps your eyelashes together so it looks like you have five really thick eyelashes, and I absolutely hate mascara that clumps your eyelashes together, it's one of my biggest pet peeves. I don't know why so many people loved this mascara, cause I really dislike it, but everyone has different likes and dislikes!

Overall I wouldn't buy this mascara again, but I do plan on buying some different L'oreal products just to try them out.

Covergirl Exact Eyelights Mascara

I never really think of buying mascara from CG, I just think of them more as a company for eyeshadow and foundation. I decided to buy this mascara a couple of months ago simply because I was in need of a new mascara and this was on sale! I wasn't expecting it to be great, just lengthen my lashes a little. After using it every day for two months I can honestly say that this mascara is amazing; when I use mascara I want it to lengthen my eyelashes but also separate them and thicken them. This mascara does it all! My eyes look wider and more awake, my lashes spread out evenly and they look much much longer.

The reason this mascara is called "eyelights" is because it's supposed to enhance your natural eye colour. How? I have no idea, and honestly my eyes have never looked any brighter when I use this, but I still love it! It doesn't smudge or flake at all during the day which is great, and it comes off easily with any eye makeup remover.
Overall this is a great mascara that I'll definitely be purchasing again.

*I forgot to add that it has a rubber brush, nice quality and not flimsy

How to Dress a Boyish Figure

So I know that most of the post's on my blog are about makeup, and for the most part they will continue to be about makeup. I just thought that since a did a post on how to dress a pear shaped figure I'd do a post on how to dress boyish figures, apple shaped bodies etc. Please bear in mind that I am not an expert on how to dress different bodies, this is just information that I've gathered from websites, friends, and my own observations. I myself have a pear shaped body, thats why the "How to Dress a Pear Shaped Body" post was so long, and why this post may be a lot shorter!

Many (not all) women who are petite or very thin have a boyish figure, this simply means that your bust is small, your waist isn't very defined, and your hips aren't very wide. If you have a boyish figure count yourself lucky! Lots of curvier women would love to have smaller hips. Just to give you a mental picture, models have boyish figures. To add curves to your figure you want to make your bust seem larger, your waist narrower, and your hips a little bigger.

Tops: Shirts with ruffles and lace around the top will give the illusion of a bigger bust. Halter tops will look fantastic on you, as will shirts and sweaters with cowl necks. Tops with an empire waist, belted waist etc. look great on boyish figures as well. Tops should end just below your waist, or just at your waist.

Jeans/Pants: Skinny jeans were made for a boyish figure, so take advantage of them! It's ok for people with a boyish figure to wear low slung jeans (only if your comfortable in them) but keep in mind that higher waisted jeans can make your hips and backside look curvier. Also look for pants that hug your hips to give the illusion of curves. Unlike the pear shaped body, boyish figures should stay away pants and jeans with a flare at the bottom.

Jackets: Look for jackets that nip in at the waist to help enhance the look of curves. For boyish figures double breasted jackets work well, jackets can really end anywhere on a boyish figure; unless your really short, then look for jackets that end around your hip bone.

Skirts: Stay away from pencil skirts! I see lots and lots of girls and women who have a boyish figure wear pencil skirts, and it doesn't look good, not at all. Instead look for skirts that have more volume. High waisted skirts look great, as long as they flare out at the bottom. Skirts should end right at the knee or a little bit above

Stay away from baggy clothing that will look frumpy! Your thin, show it off! Once again I'm not a professional, this is just my opinion.

MAC Powerpoint Eyeliner

Hello! Before I get started I just want to say that I usually don't wear eyeliner, only once-twice a week so I'm not exactly an expert on it, but this is my opinion on MAC's powerpoint eyeliner.

This eyeliner is perfection! It goes on smooth and easily, doesn't smudge one bit during the day, and its waterproof. I love the colour I have which is "Permaplum" a beautiful plum colour that looks great on any skin tone! I really can't say enough good things about this liner. It's a pencil liner, which I like better than liquid liners because I find them easier to apply.

Sorry that this review is so short, but I mean how much can you say about an eyeliner? I just really love it, I think it's worth the extra money ($18 Canadian) and I'll definitely be buying it again.

*The picture isn't the colour that I have, I believe it's Prussian, which as you can see is a gorgeous blue.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick

Typically I don't wear lipstick, just gloss, but I wanted to try something new! The only reason I chose Rimmel was because it was the most inexpensive lipstick at the drugstore(yes, I'm kind of cheap) I just wanted a pretty light pink lipstick, that didn't smudge, run, or leave my lips looking chapped and dry. I've got to say that this lipstick is really wonderful! I chose the colour "vintage" and it's a really pretty pink, it goes on rather sheer so if you want more colour you would have to put on a few coats. It has a nice shine to it, and a bit of sparkle which works well for me because I'm still in school and don't need a very dramatic colour. Whenever I use this lipstick my lips feel moisturized and I've never had a problem with the colour smearing. If I remember correctly this was about $6, so really affordable! I also love the tube it comes in, it's so cute! It's purple and has a little crown imprint on the top.

There are many colours to chose from, when I go to buy more I'm going too try out "Birthday Suit" an lovely nude colour, and "Airy Fairy" another pretty pink!
Oh and by the way, Rimmel has two lasting finish lipsticks, and the one I'm talking about lasting finish intense wear lipstick.

Almay Intense i-colour eye shadow

Hello! This won't be a very long review, simply because I'm tired, and I don't have a lot to say about this product. Please bear with me if this review isn't totally coherent, it's been a long day!

These eye shadows are meant to bring out your eye colour and really make it "pop". I think these are great shadows if your looking for a simple but pretty look. I also like them because they have very vibrant colours and more natural colours. For example I have two sets (both for brown eyes) and one set is all purple and very dark and dramatic, and the other set is more browns and purples for a nice daytime look. These are great quality, they do fade a little during the day, but I find that they last for about 5 hours without budging at all, which is fantastic!

These eye shadows are great if your not sure what colours look good on you, and just want to play around with a few different looks. Almay also has eyeliners and mascara's that are formulated to bring out your natural eye colour, I haven't tried them yet but I'll be putting them on my makeup wish list!

Spectro Jel

Oh I know, Spectro Jel is about as boring as it gets; but I love this stuff! I've been using it for about a month now instead of my Clinique 3 step cleanser (I ran out) I was looking for a cheap alternative, and I discovered Spectro Jel. I am so impressed with this product, I have Spectro Jel for Blemish Prone skin, and it really does help keep my skin blemish free. Of course I still occasionally break out, but this really helps to keep it under control. I also like it because it's soap free (Weird, I know), non irritating, so if it gets in your eyes it doesn't sting, and fragrance free. It lasts a very long time, I've hardly made a dent in my bottle, and it is very very affordable. You can find it at any drugstore, walmart etc.

I use it every morning and evening along with my Clinique 3 step toner and moisturizer, and all three products work very well together. I'll probably continue using Spectro Jel just because it's so inexpensive and in my opinion it works just as well as Cliniques 3 step cleanser.

Spectro has many other products, I suggest you check out their website to find the product right for your skin!
