Rimmel Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer

Well it's that time of the weekend again, the night before you have to go back to school/work. Ugh, never a fun time of the day. But for the moment I'm going to forget about all the work at school waiting for me and focus on my review!

If, like me you have oily skin or combination skin then you've probably faced the issue of midday shine. You may have even gotten so oily that your makeup starts to run off. I know how annoying it is to constantly be checking your makeup and applying powder or using blotting sheets, especially during a busy day. I bought this primer with the hope that it would help minimize my pores and keep shine at bay.

When I was at the store I opened the tester to try this primer out and was horrified to find that it was a bright orange colour; I don't know about you, but I don't look good as an oompa loompa. I put a little on my wrist and was relieved to find that it blends right in and doesn't leave much colour behind, it only darkened my skin slightly and I don't look orange. So I bought the primer and I've been using it for a few weeks and I'm not totally happy with it. It does make it easier to apply foundation because it smooths out my skin, but that's really all it does. My skin gets just as oily as ever during the day, and my pores don't get any smaller. My foundation doesn't wear off as quickly, but by the end of the school day it's still starting to dissapear from my nose. Overall this really isn't that great, it would probably work better for those of you with normal, or dry skin. I'm going to use up this primer though before I try anything else. I'll probably be trying Smashbox Photo Finish Primer next.

  1. orange! thanks for these reviews - you are saving me so much money not having to try things out!
    : )

  2. I just bought a foundation primer after reading your blog! I had never even heard of these before until reading about them here. I tried one by gosh
at Shoppers Drug store in Canada.

Clear, fragrance free and makes your skin feel ultra smooth. I will see how it holds up and let you know : )

  3. I'm still looking for a primer that works for me, with my oily skin it's hard to get foundation to last. Yes please let me know if it works out, I might just have to buy one for myself!
